MTM tuning for Audi is developed by Motoren Technik Mayer GmbH, a specialist in Audi tuning and Audi performance enhancement based in Wettstetten, Germany. As one of the fastest growing specialist Audi tuners in the world today, MTM leverages its in-depth knowledge of Audi cars and its strong links to the Audi factory to develop some of the fastest high performance Audis available in the market.

MTM Tuning Features

All its tuning developments are carried out in-house or at their affiliated development company Wetec Engineering, and their facility includes two fully air-refrigerated rolling roads.

MTM was founded by Roland Mayer who as a young engineer in the mid 80's was involved in the development of the now legendary five-cylinder in-line Audi Quattro engine. In 1990 Roland established the company MTM, which today has a strong focus on tuning for Audi.

In 1992 MTM developed the Audi five-cylinder in-line Quattro engine, which with MTM upgrades achieved well over 400hp and was the first street-licensed Audi worldwide to break the 300 km/h barrier. MTM has also developed an Audi with over 1000 bhp dubbed the MTM TT bimoto, which in 2007 set an official top speed record of 393 km/h on the test track in Papenburg.

When it develops a new Audi tuning map, MTM bases its engineering on detailed data from exhaustive runs on its MTM rolling roads. It always works on the premise that Audi factory safety mechanisms such as maximum boost pressure and protection against overheating and engine knocking must remain unchanged. With further road tests to fine-tune mapping data, technical approval is granted for an engine map only when stringent standards of power output, torque emission levels are achieved.

Each vehicle is meticulously tested at the MTM test center and MTM vehicles are frequently pushed to extremes by race motor sport masters like Walter Röhrl, Armin Schwarz and Florian Gruber on the North Curve at the Hockenheimring as well as at the High Speed Oval in Nardo.
